Welcome to the new Gartrell Builders website!

Gartrell builders has relied on word of mouth advertising since it was founded by Jim Gartrell. We have been in business since long before websites were a thing, and we have made hundreds of customers happy over the years.

While continuing to keep the same standards of excellence that have been a cornerstone for our company for more than thirty years, we are eager to embrace change and new technology. Many of our customers are now doing a large majority of their business online–from banking, to shopping, to finding a home builder. We live in an age of instant information, and instant results. We know that time is valuable, and convenience is important to you.

Who Are the Gartrell Builders?

After graduating from Tarleton State University, founder Jim Gartrell worked for a large corporate builder in the Dallas area. After four years, he left and formed his own company based in Glen Rose, Texas. In addition to the Hood, Somervell, Erath and Bosque county markets, he has built in the Longview area and the DFW metroplex.

In 2004, Jim was joined by his son, Jon. Jon graduated from the University of Texas at Austin. In addition to his education, Jon has practical experience in the building trades. He has worked as a trim carpenter, a framing carpenter, a cabinet builder, and on a commercial construction crew. He serves the company primarily as the on-site construction supervisor.

Together, Jim and Jon operate this small family business in and around the Glen Rose area. Over the past thirty years, they’ve built their business on a reputation of integrity, excellence, and happy customers.
